Target Pricing...

Anyone know what lumber price was assumed in these forecasts? Surely they did not use $1k in 2H2001. Stock prices are tracking lumber prices closely but I suspect there will be a partial recovery when it stabilizes. When and at what level is the question.

RBC was using numbers around $650 for the rest of 2021, and $450 long term in the last detailed report I saw.

Hamir Patel of CIBC used US $880 average lumber for the rest of 2021, and US $603 lumber in 2022. This was for his $56 price target. (Base case) His $59 upside price target he expects lumber to average US $615 in 2022. Lastly his $29 downside scenario PT was US $450-$475 range in 2022. Lost of upside to this name, the selling can be attributed to housing starts in both US and Canada being down ...more

For those who wish to see the multiples given and the thesis explained as well. Downside Scenario $29 Our downside scenario is derived using our bear case pricing for commodity lumber prices in 2022 with W. SPF at US$450/mfbm and SYP at US$475. I'm with you keep adding on the pullback below $32.00. I expect the price to stabilize around $1200.00. Profit will exceed 1st quarter barring a further collapse in prices. Traders have been taking advantage of May 21st options Look at June and July qptions for look into the future. GLTA
