CIBC lumber update

Lumber Prices In Retreat: Random Lengths reported that W. SPF prices declined $30 W/W to $1,600/mfbm, while SYP 2x4 fell $82 to $1,328/mfbm. This marked the first
decline in the SPF benchmark in 18 weeks.

The RL Composite declined 1% off record high levels to $1,494.

With prices moderating, signs of R&R demand easing, and reloads across the U.S. reportedly well
stocked with lumber, secondaries are working on limiting their inventories.

That being said, continued strong demand suggests buyers will have to
return to the market relatively soon, a dynamic which could keep prices in
four-digit territory this year.

...prices in four-digit territory this year. I think you're right. According to the following modelisation results, future price of lumber will remain high for much more than 1 year. Lumber (LB) price prediction is 1646.760348 USD. The Lumber price forecast is 1646.760348 USD for 2022 May 29, Sunday; and 4195.130 USD for 2026 May 29, Friday. (gov.capital)
