Q: What do you think the prospectus is for Interfor over the next 6 months? 

A: Given the volatility of the sector, it is a tough call but the company is debt-free with $450M cash and trades at less than 2X 2021E earnings and 4X 2022 earnings. A bounce in lumber prices might see shares quickly back to $30.

"The federal government will report housing starts and building permits numbers for July on Wednesday morning. Economists are forecasting a drop in housing starts from June and that building permits will be flat." Should this be true, then lumber prices will be challenged.
