Madison WSPP price and comments from their web site

Madison's Softwood Lumber Benchark Dimension Softwood Lumber Western SPF 2x4 Price MAR 2022

Canfor production curtailment is the right thing to do.They are showing better discipline. It's not that they can't sell the lumber.it's that they can't move it.This will be good to keep the market in a tight
position.

Shipping delays continued to be the main word as inventories in the field were waning and deliveries were frustratingly slow. Sawmills were able to keep strong order files of up to 4 weeks so prices remained flat.
Lumber yards at suppliers were choked due to sheer lack of rails cars coming in as well as difficulty sourcing trucks.

When compared to the same week last year, when it was $1,040, for the week ending March 18, 2022 the price of Western Spruce-Pine-Fir 2×4 is up by +$360, or +35%.
Compared to two years’ ago when it was US$406 mfbm, this price is up by +$994, or +245%.
