In this board there's lots of comparing AT to shopify and other successful companies, some went as far as calling AT TTD's little brother two companies started the same year, same industry but one has 10 time the revenues of the other one. Management with balls makes all thedifference.

This mgmt is not communicating with shareholders very often....they need to pick up their game. Lots of great things are probably happening but we would never know.

Would you knock it off growthnprosper. We are 16 days past the most recent earnings, which were good, and here you are again crying about management not spoonfeeding you every bit of information you desire. If you want to be that up to date, go and get yourself voted on to the board of directors or apply to work for the company. Just because you chased the stock and bought it at $30 doesn't ...more

The guy seems to feel like this company or it's stock is an entity that has personally betrayed him and wronged him immorally and unjustifiably - like a best friend cheating on your wife, or something like that. Since he has such a personal, emotional anger attached, I can't imagine being invested in this company is good for his health, much less he seems to despise it, so I'm not sure ...more

With all due respect, if you were to dig down a little deeper Jeff Green formed AdECN in 2004 which was the world's first online ad exchange.  It was then bought out in 2007 by Microsoft and then Green left Microsoft to start TTD in 2009.  So, yes the Trade Desk name started in 2009 but Green started his company in 2004 and actually founded the whole online ad exchange idea. ...more

@golongterm. So did Tal Hayek in 2004 started an ad-tech company that he then sold to a public firm in 2006. Not trying to bash anyone but balls size matters.

The Trade Desk was given plenty of money from their IPO in the US in 2016 which kick started their growth. Acuityads being a Canadian company didn't have access to that kind of opportunity. It is no surprise that american companies tend to be valued much higher than their canadian counterparts.  Btw, the size of the market cap today doesn't tell you much about its future ...more

Well said. The way I see it, both are excellent companies. I found both later than I would have liked to. I guess pre-split it would have been in the teens that I found TTD, and it was one of my favourite companies. I did find the valuation got a bit eye-watering, but still like it. Acuity I found much later than TTD, at around $8.60 or so CAD, just before the quick jump to like $14 and $20 in ...more

@torontojay. Balls was a figure of speech. The fact that Green a trailblazer in the field was able to raise so much capital and grow a company to the today size speaks loudly about the entrepreneur that he is. Tal Hayek grew to companies to 120 million dollars yearly revenue and I think that not a small feats either . From January AT outperformed TTD but got outperformed by Pubmatic, Magnite and ...more

@snowpest you're trying to compare apples to oranges on the history of the 2 companies.  The fact that Green was able to team up with Microsoft in the early days helped launch his dream.  Not to mention the money he was able to raise when he took TTD public in the US. We need to be patient with Tal and team and trust the process that they will be able to execute on the illumin story ...more
