LSPD vs AT

Might as well get truthis going again today. GLTA

Question: Can I please get your opinion on LSPD versus AT? What price would be a table pounding buy?

We have many recent comments on both posted. AT is far, far cheaper right now, and likely less risky with good upside under the right conditions. LSPD is growing faster but is more expensive, so there is a trade off. Without guidance as to risk tolerance, we would side with AT.

More from 5i. Note that they are prevented from owing Canadian stocks so they remain completely impartial. Their success is derived from the number of subscribers they have and that is based on the accuracy of their predictions and the performance of their three model portfolios.

Love it Retired, let's go!  I have three questions for you if you would oblige. 1) Do 5i provide you with price entry and exit points and are backtested over time against a benchmark or just vague statements like "we like it as it has some upside under the right conditions"? 2) If 5i models are so good why are they selling their alpha for cheap instead of becoming a fund and ...more

I will provide a more detailed answer in the coming days. I may be different than most investors and I've had a lot of success with my strategy but I don't focus on share price alone. I have a mathematics/economics background and  I put a lot of emphasis on quantitative valuation while not paying attention to share price volatility.  I ask myself some questions:  1 ...more

You make five good reasons why investing in AT looks worthwhile. Blind hope is always part investing because no one can predict the future without risk. Ben Graham didn't invest in IBM back in the mid 1960's because the financial statements didn't tangiably demonstrate value. Warren Buffet moved past the limitations of Ben Graham's reasoning. With respect to AT, my blind hope ...more

Thank you for the discourse! 1) is the CO's fundamentals improving?  Q4:2019, AT was growing revenue by 70% yoy Since Q2 2020, in full COVID, revenue took a dive contracting between Q2:2020 and Q1:2021 (Q2:2020 +5%. Q3:2020 -5%, Q4:2020 -12%, Q1:2020 -6%) and in last two Qs grew revenue again by avg 10% yoy (9% and 11% respectively) from those very low comps. Compare that to TTD ...more

I'm currently looking into the stock. In your analysis, you can't seem to tag up the share price vs the growth rate, that growth might not be straight up as the legacy business dries up but that short term slowdowns might be a buying opportunity that would have never been there if Q3 didn't happen? Also, about the rates thing, doesn't that work both ways? As in, if rates are ...more

My answer is.. maybe. Certainly, they generally have a good track record with acquisitions bar one that proved to be poor but that was very early. In terms of Q3, it depends on what the causes of the bad Q3 results are and whether they are indicative going forward. My own sense from the conference call is that the CEO is overly arrogant and aloof. Given the amount of shares he sold, it's not ...more
