ILLUMIN: Feature vs Product

I think acuity is great value here...but I am concerned about ILLUMIN and it's ability to scale...Laura Martin made a great point about ILLUMIN growth and how self-serve as a whole was actually only a $600k increase...a part of me is skeptical whether ILLUMIN is just a 'drag and drop' feature vs actually being a platform...perhaps someone with technical expertise can weigh in...

Self serve revenue in Q3/21 was $8,164,158 compared to Q3/20 of $7,297,762 or an increase of 11.8% compared to last year. Total revenue grew about 5.4% YoY which implies that self serve revenue performed better than overall revenue. Another point worth mentioning is that the past quarter we faced a currency headwind and so real total revenue growth was about 11.3% YoY. On the self serve side this ...more

This is FALSE Illumin revenue IN TOTAL is reported under self serve DESPITE the fact that it is ANYTHING BUT self serve. For all the perma-bulls here, have you actually contacted any customers/users of illumin? How can you judge the product from your keyboard? From what Tal tells you? From the analysts who have never even seen the product, lack any detailed knowldge of ad-tech or have even ...more

Do you have anything to back this up? Because this is not stated in the MD&A or financial statements and in the Q3 conference call, they pretty much said that 100% of Illumin revenues were in managed services and it would stay that way for probably half of next year.

Q3 conference call Laura Martin So a couple from me. So of your self-service line item this year, I think you said that illumin was $7.4 million out of the $8.2 million in the most recent quarter. My question is, in the prior year, you were showing $7.3 million of self service that since illumin didn't exist last year, I was wondering why -- like can you remind us what is that -- last ...more

Except they never said that in the conference call, it's something she misunderstood... and the answer doesn't confirm that either, he just mentions self-serve or not.

My statement is accurate.  I guess you didn't listen to the Q3 conference call?  Key points.  Start watching at 39:55 and pay attention at 40:22. Also, at 37:30 Tal Hayek mentions that Q4 will exceed last years Q4 in total revenue and that they might surprise but does not promise it.    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gNUTCovIZqw

I listened and you're right about him not being clear and likely did not correct her because he wanted to avoid the issue altogether as much as possible. He never split illumin revenue specifically across self serve and managed services but definitely implied that most of the self serve revenue is illumin and didn't bother correcting her assumption. This is not the way! Any other straight ...more
