Brand New Presentation (TD Conference 27-Jan)

This is pretty unreal.

IVN has a brand new presentation...new style, new slides...very sharp.

big takeaways for me are reconfirmation of being on track for July production at K+K and hints of more to come from WFR + reinforcing what we have at Platreef

About WFR, has anybody heard this statement before?

"Recent new discovery of Kamoa Pyrite Siltstone (KPS) has delivered further ultra high-grade results, and promises continued future success"

I may have missed it but with all the focus on K+K ramping up, there's been little talk of activities at WFR.

Makoko has a siltstone sand unit similar to Kamoa as referenced in this release.  https://www.bloomberg.com/press-releases/2018-10-01/ivanhoe-mines-announces-the-makoko-copper-discovery-on-its-100-owned-western-foreland-exploration-licences-near-kamoa-kakula-i  Of course they may have found another location also.  The grades at Makoko were also impressive.

Frankly, I am surprised that IVN hasn't had their wrists slapped. Regarding the total lack of dissemination re Makoka. They have been driiling it, for a couple of years... And absolutely no News. Disgraceful, imo

They've been drilling the Kamoa north extension on WF for quite some time now too. I remember seeing sometime back that they were moving rigs there.  Might be waiting till we have cash flow from K&K to drop the WF releases. At one point there was an area within WF that was not acquired by Ivanhoe for mining, not sure if that is still the case. If it is they may be looking to acquire ...more

Well Stupid Me... I didn't realise a listed company, could pick and choose when they want to release News. I kind of assumed News would be released, when it became a Material Fact. And West Foreland results, I assumed would be a "Material Fact'''' Stupid Me
Comment by MiningD on Jan 28, 2021 3:11pm
.... hopefully its material fact.
Comment by Drksideofmoon on Jan 28, 2021 4:05pm
I hear you. With the way the market currently values Ivn it's a bit difficult to say what any group will consider a material fact. Especially if they have not completed a full resource assessment and are continuing to drill.

I've held this company since it was Ivanplats and created this account to ask one question: do you not talk to IR?  They have said since basically April that COVID scuttled the Western Foreland exploration program this year due to safety around a third camp and they had to stick to geophysics. They are planning a big amount of drilling on the 100% owned licenses in 2021 now that the ...more

Question for the board : given our current market cap and comparing it with major copper producers that are already producing, how can we justify a 12$ sp as many of you speculate that we should be at in couple of months ?    look at first quantum stock.... full production with 14B market cal... we are not even producing and are already at 7B....

1 although copper will be the first product, this is not just a copper company.  2 this on the verge of becoming a growth company.  3 the copper is premium copper.  It has extremely low arsenic levels and other producers will need Ivanhoe copper to blend with theirs to dilute their arsenic levels.  “Green” copper production will shortly also be a premium product.  The ...more

But if you look at npv8 of every mine +the fact that we dont own 100% of kk, we are fairly valued at the moment wouldn't we be ?
Comment by alvarez2 on Jan 31, 2021 11:13am
If that's your conclusion, why are you asking ?
Comment by Drksideofmoon on Jan 31, 2021 3:30pm
NPV8 is practically useless for growth companies, does not account for the extraordinary high IRR and after a certain amount of years attributes no value to the assets in he ground.  Use what you want, it seems the metals and financial markets have been manipulated for years and silver is the highlighted example at the moment.  It should become obvious soon, that metals are the real ...more

Also please check out back of the napkin KK FCF at $3.25 copper; even 50% of it is insane. If you are comparing this to any other asset you don't understand it. Western Foreland and Platreef are not even considered in current valuation. They will also build Platreef with funding on Phase 1 expected this quarter.  I love this stock due to multiple exit strategies. Either it is gtaken ...more

Drilling re-commenced in Q3 2020 with a total of seven new holes completed at the Makoko prospect, and an eighth drill hole was deepened. The drilling aimed to confirm the continuation of prospective lower Nguba stratigraphy westwards toward the new exploration permits. A total of 2,589 metres were drilled during the quarter. Additionally, exploration continued on the Western Foreland exploration ...more
