Ivanhoe W.Foreland Concession

I am sure some majors will be watching very closely their upcoming drill program as a Bonanza discovery has already been made. This concession could hold some major implications for Ivanhoe

WF discoveries are really going to rock the boat. Every other Major will be knocking down the door to be part of this. Do you think the SP will go up????? Wake up and smell the copper folks!!
Comment by ororosso on May 08, 2021 3:18pm
My sense is that the majors will be very keen on the WF and Ivanhoe in general.  If you look at the social license to operate, the big miners will be focused on the ESG message that Robert is constantly promoting.  Hydro power, high grade, community focus, low cost, low capital intensity and partnership with the government etc.  More than anything, the big miners need to protect ...more

"This will be a big deal". That is correct ororosso. Most people just don't understand that when the crowd (markets) turn to green then IVN will stand out like never before. Other miners will be paying above top dollar for any piece of the WF property. RF could see this coming years ago and now the GREEN train is racing down the tracks.  Sit tight and don't be a nervous ...more

On one hand it would be a shame to have a major move in buy the company out before we see what IVN could have done with this find, but on the other hand if huge $$ were offered, I may be persuaded, but I will hold to the end with a huge smile on my face. Way to go, everyone involved in this very successful company. Long and strong, ( right now I am humming the theme of the show Ivanhoe for those ...more

It won't be the western majors who will take a run at IVN, it's China. Look at the current major shareholders...China is already deep. They're not going to let the steady stream of high grade copper for decades slip out of their hands on projects they built and financed. Upside is huge for IVN, but the political risk that we bear is not DRC but rather China. It all depends if they want ...more

China runs the show with Friedland with regards to ivanhoe. Chinese firms provided the money for Ivanhoe to move this project forward when monies were hard to come by from the Western capital markets.  CITIC is basically a financial arm of the Chinese government and gave funds to ivanhoe via equity financing at above the share price market at the time of their investment.  Friedland had ...more

True...they own 26 percent of the shares but Ivanhoe owns 100 percent of W.F. Any potential deal with a Chinese mining company still is controlled by Ivanhoe period..

way to early to be aquired - that's years down the road at the absolute peak of the Copper Market Cycle Top; RF going to squeeze every ounce of blood for the benefit of increasing IVN shareholder value!!!!
Comment by crow27 on May 09, 2021 6:50pm
And we have standstill agreements in place for a bit so there is no chance of a hostle bid from our partners.  Copper is .22 cents away from $5.00 .......................and we are on the cusp of first concentrate. Fantastic timing!!!!
Comment by PistolTuco on May 09, 2021 6:56pm
"hostile bid from partners" what might that scenario look like?
Comment by crow27 on May 09, 2021 9:04pm
I truly do believe we would not see a hostile bid. Even offering us a friendly bid is really going to depend on exactly where we are with everything. What phase at KK, drill results from WF, more reserves at KK, Platreef .................... everything plays into the price we would be offered. That is why RF is racing to get everything as far down the road before the standstill agreements run out ...more

No Sir, China already owns 39.8% of IVN, hence 39.8% of all IVN projects including WF. RF owns 13.5%. And anyone who thinks that if WF is truly a bonanza as anticipated, that the DRC won't be getting a cut off the top is smoking too much Canadian weed.
Comment by PistolTuco on May 10, 2021 12:34am
DRC KK 20% so it would be an track that DRC would get 20% of WF to keep everyone happy.
Comment by alvarez2 on May 10, 2021 12:50am
I don't think anyone was even questioning that that wouldn't be the case. Why wouldn't they ?
Comment by MiningD on May 10, 2021 7:15am
I'm a capitalist like everyone else here - but I hope that the gov gets 20%.  The country deserve to share the pie and benefit with us.
