Please tell me they aren't trucking the concentrate 3000 KM.

If they have to bag and truck the concentrate 3000 km to South Africa it might be the most inefficent thing I have ever seen.  I thought a railraod was going to be used.  Someone please correct me.

CITIC Metal and Zijin will purchase the copper concentrate at the Kakula Mine and the blister copper at the Lualaba Copper Smelter on a free-carrier basis, meaning the buyers will be responsible for arranging freight and shipment to the final destination, initially via the port of Durban, South Africa. This makes me feel a little better.

Export that copper to the US and bring in US dollars.  It is the best currency out there.  The US is lucky to be the reserve currency, but they will have to devalue someday.  If the dollar gets too strong then countries that borrow dollars have a hard time paying off debt.  The US exports inflation. FOB -  Kakula location is what i intrepret, IVN is paid for the concentrate before it leave the mine or IVN controlled distribution center. FOB is a shipping term that stands for “free on board.” If a shipment is designated FOB (the seller's location), then as soon as the shipment of goods leaves the seller's warehouse, the seller records the sale as complete.
