IVN- unusual Daily Trading Pattern....Flat Lining

For the past week, we get an initial move early...then the stock flat lines for the rest of the session.

Unusual for IVN (esp with a 1.9 Beta) - Day Traders usually swing it all over the place

And vol is down.

I've seen this before...and it's amazing how often it happens before a Big News release.

Call it the calm before the storm...whatever...
It would not surprise me in the least if something big is about to happen, eh

Hello TA,  on what analysis do you think your shares will  be worth $30 M ? i.e. how many shares do you have, and what will drive them so far before the Chinese buy us out ? Full disclosure, I own 260,000 shares (as of now not enough for a 200 ft yacht :-) )

Thanks TA. I have indeed run the numbers and get to fairly loughty valuations as well. The little angel (demon?) on my shoulder keeps whispering however that the Chinese will be buying us out before IVN becomes the runaway train it is built to be. Various covenants preventing them from doing so expire in the next 18 months or so. What ace does RF own up his sleeve that keeps this from happening?

Easy    RF's  own ownership of IVN. He doesn't need the money so why should he sell. If I were him I would like to be respected as the founder of the greatest copper miner in the world and the prestige that goes with that.

True enough that Zijin and CITIC have restrictive covenants... But if anoher Party comes in and tries to take over IVN, the covenants are lifted, And they are allowed to top the bid, or else they have give up their shares. Ivanhoe mentioned that, in a press release a couple of years ago

Buyers would want to purchase (close to) operating mines. As long as WF, Platreef and KK are much more developed, no one would want to take over that risk. As said before, RF is the best at this stuff. People will probably want to let him finish most of the development and buy when risk is minimal. I could see some adventurous types but even those will wait quite a bit down the road. Buying out ...more

Okay...but I think some Big News is imminent. The lack of recent volatilty may be because Pro's are sniffing out that the time is not right to day trade IVN if News is coming soon. And getting caught on the wrong side, eh ?
