It lookms like we will break the all time US high today.  Ivanhoe will not auction off West Forelands, but they may seek a partner who wants a slice of the pie.  There will be no buyout of this company at this point unless it is at a minumum of 100% premium based on today's price.

given everything about the company and where the price of copper is headed , i would feel cheated if any take over was at only  a 100% premium

was going to say the same thing. maybe the time of double-digit multuples is over, but it is still grossly undervalued... just do some math. or read previous posts with pertinent calculations...

With two Chinese multibillion dollar companies as partners and shareholders and massive expansions of production in the Congo and South Africa another assumption is that the Chinese can/will fund Ivanhoe when required. Chinese think longterm and are generally not interested in selling out strictly for monetary gain. Remember also that CITIC is a arm of the Chinese government.

Bingo they are never selling out of this deposit too bad, never get a take over premium.

Why would I want a takeover premium. This is a cash machine with more blue sky potential than any other copper out there. I'm up almost 450% on this and the cash machine just started.

yup , my thinking is 5 years or less and the price is doubled what  it is trading at today . the question for a lot of us early share holders will be how to tax shelter the gains .

Why would you not want it trading at a takeover premium?

I don't understand the question.  Everyone knows there is no chance of a takeover here given the share structure.  I guess you either buy into the vision or you don't. I am   here because I do and I like the way this management has developed the assets and I think it has a long way to go.  I don't see this as a great trading instrument, but a development play

So close to a short term trade right now 20% over the 50ma is the best we see, 6% more and we there. cheers
