It's yet another thematic in favour of IVN that Chilean and Peruvian production is in trouble due to issues with grade, water, labour, debt, social license, leftist politics disincentivizing investment, etc. It's an array of challenges that will constrain output and raise the marginal cost. So far so good none of these problems apply to IVN.

Yes, but those kinds of problems are my biggest worry in the future.  All of Africa is unstable, and leftists could gain control in any Aftican country at any time.

Agreed, this is one of the strategic problems and material risks that have and will continue to affect the valuation of IVN and the share price. Add to Africa (I am a bit more optimistic on Africa; though recent events in Niger are not supporting such cautious optimism) the other clearly identified problem areas: China (viewed more and more critically by the rest of the world), the continuing ...more

The leftist movement in Africa is much less of a threat than it is in North and South America.  socialism is killing the mining industry in South America as we speak and good luck building anything in Canada anymore.  The US is only modestly better.  K&K could only have been built as quickly as it was in Africa.....that's a fact.
