Based on what Marna stated, you can bet RF is thinking

exactly the same, ANY future deal with IVN will be a MINORITY interest, which will mean that no matter who makes a deal with IVN if any deal at all, they would only have a MAXIMUM 39%.
The DRC will have 20% and the 80% minority would be anything UP to 39%. as per Marna's statement; so to keep operational control, you need MAJORITY interest, but even 39% with another potential Kakula in the WF, would bring in from 5 to 10 BILLION, YES that is BILLION.

She did say Ivanhoe would have waited longer to sell a stake in Kamoa Kakula if it had a do-over and it would have remained in charge. But the collapse in commodity prices crushed other funding opportunities in 2015 when the $412 million deal occurred, she said.

“If we had to do that transaction today, it probably would have been different,” Cloete said. “It would have been a much bigger price tag and we probably would have ensured that we maintained operational control.”
