West Foreland has $48.5 Billion in copper
according to today's Ivanhoe press release. 5 million tons of cu is reported in the press release and at $4.85 per pound that amounts to $48.5 Bill in added value for Ivanhoe. The amount of exploration that has been done is miniscule given the size of the West Foreland property

Not to rain on the parade but that's very sloppy math as it assumes no cost of production and no cost of capital to boot. I'm a big fan of the company and am particularly impressed by how well they have managed to execute on their projects. Clearly a tremendous future potential, but let's be a little realistic here.

There was no parade metnioned. That's the aggregate value of the ore in the ground and no attempt to guesstimate profitability on that ore. Since the raw ore's value is almost twice the market cap of the stock, it obviously has enormous profit potential.

Why can't we edit on Stockhouse? I would add ...How many new mines do they say we need to come on line every year? How many coming on line next year or the year after? IVN the only one able to advance new mines quickly.
