 Glad I sold this sucker last month. WTF! I'd be super pissed if owned this company now.  30% off the highs and nobody on this board is squaking.

Whats the squawk about.  Its a macro event.  Look at FCX, LUN,HBM,etc....all down similar numbers.  Most companies throw a lot of cash at $ 4 copper, but the market sentiment is going to do what its going to do.  I've been in IVN a long time and have seen this plenty of times.  I write covered calls against my position to smooth out the spikes and lets me make some ...more

Indeed, copper stocks are known for their volatility, with significant swings. Selling into strength and employing covered calls can accumulate substantial returns; there's nothing quite like them.

While not always the case, the price of copper is usually very sensitive to the state of the economy. If the US or other major countries were to go into recession, the copper price would likely drop further. I think $4.00 is about right at this point given the FED has not executed a single interest rate cut to date for fear of reigniting inflation, but may make their first cut in September. FED ...more
