Silly rabbit!  lol     The ratio of the S&P to commodities can be resolved to average either by the drop in one or the rise in the another.  You have chosen to believe that it was a rise in commodity prices during the great ’07 recession that was responsible for the spike upward in the ratio.   However, when we examine the price chart of non-ferrous metals, we ...more

MY bad.  Missed adding to my post FCX prices during '08.  US$63 in June and Dec. US$ 7.86, and loss of over 80%. FCX - Freeport-Mcmoran Stock Interactive Chart - Barchart.com   The evidence is clear that cartoon-boy's chart should be a warning.    BTW - HUI dropped 37% in 2008.
