Seems strange

Just seems strange to me that current sp is less than it was this time a year ago given gold is $400 higher.....and Detour has proven its worth and KL cash flow is great. Hmmm.

what I dont get is who is selling...KL is buying back shares...but someone is driving the shares down....worries me about a cheap takeover....another takeover where the shareholders get the shaft and the wealthy buyer gets wealthier

it does appear that someone is walking down the price for the sinister reason. The value if KL is clear to see for many including the stalkers.

Algos and short and day traders are playing this stock like pros!! too many weak hands looking for a quick $$$ some of the longs are getting tired of looking other miners going up and kl dropping! the stock action this past week was quite ridiculous and hopefully it will see a reversal!

Maybe a news release about the shareback progress would be nice. Or simply filing their inside purhases. Maybe answering investors emails and phone calls would be nice, Seems to me there are some very incompetent folks  at KLwho do not understand how to deal with shareholders. Money is leaving KL and shares dropping...that is simply a fact.

Haha Your joking right? detour was free! They just bought  a 4 billion $$$ mine and are free of debts... detour makes a profit of 350million$$ a year and all they did is make some 70 overpriced shares appear!! At time of purchase detour as 13 years mine life and since then they found higher grades and lots of it! you should listen to the fireside interview on the kl website in the nr section. ...more

77 mil shares aint free! They are buying back a small percentage of those for real cash. Dilution 101.
Comment by Goldbug52 on Dec 07, 2020 9:18am
In less than a year KL has bought back about 20% of the shares they issued for the purchase of Detour! I'd hardly call that a small percentage :-))! Seems you're back to bashing!    If KL keeps buying back at this rate they'll have eliminated all the shares they'd issued in about four years and then it's all gravy!

I lke the Detour deal now...without KL would have been screwed. Im holding on to what I have for the longterm ( 30k shares ) but much less than I wanted to buy a few weeks ago., Put my sale money into ABX and Agnico Eagle. better management in both IMO. My largest holdings are now ABX, KL and Agnico, follwed by Impala, Polymetal and SSRM.  Bought a bunch of gdxj today as well.

Dilution my butt! Check out their book value per share performance over that time period. That steal-of-a-deal nearly doubled their value! At the end of Q4 2019, they were worth $8.67 per share as a tangible book value. The Detour deal closed around the end of January 2020 (beginning of Q1). At the end of Q1 2020, they were worth $15.27 per share, tangible. WOW!

It's the time value of money. You pay cash in the future. It's called discounted value. The NPV of cash paid in the future is not the same as paying now.
