Why would KL sell itself? They spent years building.
To build again? Having to buy someone else's overpriced and unproven dirt at today's premium prices? Someone appears to be stoking the rumor for their own gain. It simply does not make sense. For the record, I have never walked on unfrozen water. Sherm

Perhaps Franco-Nevada? Would explain FNV's drop over past few days, and FNV is one of few big enough to buy KL. Just speculating; I know of no other information supporting this theory.

If KL is willing to sell itself, we may have a bidding war, with all three Big boys wanting the big cash cow that KL is! Can't exclude Agnico!

Fnv is a royalty/streamer. They would never buy an operating mine. Nem is a more likely candidate if the rumor is true.

Yes, that would be true. Price is always the final determinant. Who is to say what is the "right" price? As for myself, I would prefer that KL continue as a going concern as it is so that I may continue to receive those increasing dividends. Just my $0.02 USD.

I truly feel that KL should be trading north of $100. Don't think they would get that number in a takeover bid at this time.
