Share price up, gold down

Some people in the know, expect very positive news early next week (probably great drilling results, (that with 10 drilling rigs) are way over due or other good news. Oh and I am really disappointed with my investment going from 1.55 or 3.00 to 8.00 in one year. LOL, YOU HAVE TO JOKING!

I here you, law. We are in the same boat. I have been in thrust since 0.75 cents. All the fundamentals point above 10 bucks. I will be holding beyond that as well.

Erin, very stressful ride, I was down huge when it hit 42 cents and afraid to average down. The worst was when they were supposed to be producing 50k oz and one qtr they had to purchase 3k oz of gold to pay Cartesian!  I really thought I was going to lose it all. For some reason, I did not sell, have taken some profit along the way (reduced my principle in this investment) and now am up huge! ...more

Law, good job. It isn't easy to hold through action like that. I was in after all that mess cleared up. I sold 1/3 of my position. I'll likely sell up another 1/3 to a half between $10 and $15. I'm going long on the rest. And I mean long, as in, 2 plus years from this point forward. I would not be surpised if this stock is worth $25 in 2 years.

To be clear. I sold at 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Small increments for that first 1/3. It was a prudent move in some ways. But sometimes I wish I held. Sometimes.

I am happy with what I sold and where I am positioned now. I don't look back and woulda, shoulda because I am sleeping a lot better now! It's always prudent to take some profits! I feel better with some money in the bank and not all paper profits!

I have been doing the opposite.  I have been buying all the way up since the 2.80 range. Why?  Well  I cannot find a better stock that has this growth profile with its moderate level of risk.  I am open to suggestions.  If you sold K92, what other stocks would you consider?  I have MAG and GENM that stand out amongst my other holdings.

Oilsyd, I find that gold space is very heavily scrutinzed by investors, and to get a bargain is VERY hard, unless you are willing to take a gamble on a crappy project with production problems turning it around...  So I agree that KNT is the best value based on production growth potential over the next few years. That said, at this price the upside is limited to a 2-3x increase over the next ...more

Check out Calibre Mining (CXB). I'd be interested to hear your opinion!
Comment by Y93H1979 on Jan 19, 2021 5:24am
I looked at Calibre briefly a while ago, just checked in and it seems to have done very well! Management seems to be competent. It seems like a solid company. It would be intrigueing at $1, but for ME, not interested at $2. Reason I wasn't that interested initially is that it doesn't fit my particular criteria. One thing Ian Stalker always mentions in his interviews is that in mining, you ...more

Surprised at the sell off of Calibre...jmho but it has huge exploration potential... who knows

Thanks for the reply! I screwed up and should have bought some k92 on that last pullback, but didn't have time to do my DD before it spiked back up to $8. I have quite a large position in Calibre at about $1.40. I'm looking for another producer that has a decent growth profile and can self fund growth like Calibre.  I guess I look at K92 the same way you look at Calibre.   ...more

When I watched some videos on Calibre last night, their interviewee mentioned K92 as a company to aspire to.  Nothing changes my viewpoint that if you switch your money from KNT to somewhere else, you have to take greater risk or accept a company with less organic growth.  I think that if you were to buy Calibre Mining, now would be a good time to get in.   I bought 10000 ...more

K92 is definitively the top intermediate producer! Wish I would have found it a little earlier. I'm pretty new to the gold sector. Hoping Calibre ends up being another K92.  They have a good start with no debt, lots of free cash flow, several good assets and blue sky exploration.  They can self fund all of their future development and that Rio Tinto partnership could be interesting ...more

Calibre has excellent management with proven track records, but their mines have (thus far) only established relatively modest resource sizes.  As well, the AISC is still high (vs that of K92), although it is low enough to allow for a very healthy profit margin on production, given current gold prices.
Comment by goldstd69 on Jan 19, 2021 6:22pm
agree blindboy but Calibre has huge exploration potential in several areas...ahhh but back to K92....we need a MOA with the government .... the delay is a bit concerning....maybe things work slow with governments in PNG as the do in the USA....

I'm just hanging out for the drill results, it feels like aaaaages. Common already! And blue lake, how long does it take? Some nice hits in Judd, an increase in Kora resource, the first full quarter of long hole stoping coupled with the commissioned process plant... The market will soon realise this is on track for 150k oz PA with huge resource upside potential.Should be a nice quarter, gold ...more

Erin, we have very similar strategies! My details would take too long to explain but the longs have and are going to make a lot more money! This is going to be HUGE!
