Agree.  Taiwan is all but gone.  The US cannot and will not defend it.  China doesn't need to invade countries.  It just needs to control the sea and sea lanes unopposed.  This is the British naval model as applied to SE Asia.  I expect countries to begin to "accommodate" China, meaning do what China wants them to do. An Asian power never attacked Hawaii before, so it's impossible.  The US is rotating its carrier battle groups in an out of Guam and other ports to mitigate risk.  Right now.  I can tell you for a fact that they're worried about Hawaii.
