Melanoma Cancer

Scientists in Australia have discovered that a specific extract from cannabis can kill skin cancer cells.

This anti-cancer effect can force melanoma cells into a “programmed cell death,” known as apoptosis, Knewz.com has learned.

Researchers from Charles Darwin University (CDU) and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia made their discovery via an in-vitro study using a specific extract from Cannabis sativa on melanoma cells in a laboratory setting.

They published their findings in a paper titled “Evaluating the Mechanism of Cell Death in Melanoma Induced by the Cannabis Extract PHEC-66,” on January 31, in CellsJournal.

PHEC-66 is 60% CBD.

The human skin has the endocannabinoid system composed of enzymes, receptors, and ligands which regulates skin homeostasis including the release of inflammatory compounds, cell differentiation, and division [20]. This system does have receptors for multiple compounds, including those derived from plants such as cannabis/hemp.   https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7503316/

That is correct, the cannabinoid compounds disrupts the cancer cell's ability to replicate leading to it's self destruction and....Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer as well.   Some forms of melanoma are very aggressive, difficult to treat to existing treatments and will come back and be lethal.
