Gonna hurt --- bad

According to inspections by the Maine Department of Public Safety, irregularities include loose carriage bolts, poor windshield sealing, malfunctioning heating systems, improperly installed power steering hose and safety devices. rear emergency door that is not working properly.

Some districts in Maine have been having trouble with their electric models for several months. A report from the Winthrop District School Board meeting held on December 20 attests to this.

“We still have two buses that are not usable mainly due to problems with the windshield,” we can read. We had to rent three vehicles. Lion reimbursed us for this expense, as the two electric buses were not usable. »

On three of the four vehicles built by Lion and operated by Winthrop, heating system failures forced the district to leave them in the shop.

“I believe that we must now consider other plans to replace these vehicles in the long term,” underlines the report, which La Presse consulted. We are trying to make them work, but it continues to be problematic. »
