The problem

The problem is Largo didn't reach year end earnings estimates,
12 cents against 20 cents.

Whose y-e estimates? Yours?

Why are you comparing US$ earnings per share actuals to CAD $ earnings per share estimates? If you compared actuals to estimates in the same currency then they would be very close each other.

I found the  amounts on your post, Actuals vs estimates. In another post I copied and pasted so you can see for yourself. Did I misunderstand?

12 cents against 20 cents? My post clearly said that the 20 cents were in CAD$. And you should know that Largo books are in US$ (so the 12 cts are in US$) or may be you don't. Any way, as at the 9 months ending Sept 2020, the earnings / share actuals were lower than the estimates by 6 cents (US). So going Q4-20 people know that it would be impossible to erase such a big deficit therefore the ...more

Imho, this morning NR about the Ilemnite plant doesn't help. The market doesn't like announcements that are opaque which generate more questions than answers. Hope that they will clear everything up this afternoon.
