The failure of Battery Day as a promotional event

The fact that the daily number of shares traded has been so low since Battery Day (June 9) speaks volumes about the failure of that promotional event in stimulating any enthusiasm for LGO. Nothing but a big yawn from the market. Talk is cheap. Execution is everything.

TSX Volume:

June 10 = 78.5K

June 11 = 156.7K

June 14 = 68.1K

June 15 = 56.7K

For a daily average of 90K which is way below the 30-day average of 147.5K

I'd have to respectfully disagree.  While trading volume doesn't yet show it, Morgan Stanley, H.C. Wainright, and others I'm sure, had optomistic reports following the meeting and raised price targets.  Overall volume in the market is down with Fed meeting this week, everyone is waiting for some hint as to what they are going to do with interest rates.  Cosidering the ...more

Really? I know that HC Wainwright has increased its PT from $20 to $24 after Battery Day. Not much of an increase as it is still lower than the $25 given on March 19 (see below). Morgan Stanley lowered its PT from $36 to $33 on May 18. I have not heard of any upgrade from them since Battery Day. Have you got any info about any upgrade from MS or anybody else since Battery Day? Please share with us ...more

the MS anaylst is very unimpressive, at best. there is not one major wall street firm covering them beside MS. it is time for management to deliver and stop with the promote nonsense.

The lack of interest by the market continues. TSX Volume: June 10 = 78.5K June 11 = 156.7K June 14 = 68.1K June 15 = 56.7K June 16 = 70.8K   For a daily average of 86.2K which is way below the 30-day average of 143.4K. Btw, today's Nasdaq volume = 72.8K which is about half of the average volume (3-mth) of 139.4K. The upgrade to Nasdaq is supposed to expose Largo to new deep ...more

I haven't checked but am pretty sure that overall market volume is signifcantly lower in June-Aug. Let's see after a contract announcement if volumes change.  I am hopeful that we will be added to some mutual funds with proof of concept and being considered a clean energy company and not just a miner. Agree that they need to prove themselves, then I'm hopeful that volumes show ...more

So you are saying that Arias + management intentionally selected the “low”month of June for the long-awaited / important promotional event such as Battery Day in order to coincide with the low volume? Was that how to attract more investors / buyers? Did you or did you not expect Battery Day to have, at the very least, some positive impact on volume? Even if the volume of the market may be ...more

give them the next two days... while i am skeptical that they truly believed they would have a contract in hand for the first VRFB order, when pushed, they said it was delayed, they were expecting it to be singed and, very specifically - and, we all heard the reply to LC -  they expect that it would be signed this week (2 more days left).  If Paulo was bs'ing LC and the rest of us ...more

Another example of "overpromising and underdelivering": Q1-21 Non-interactive Q&A: Alex Guthrie Thanks, Paulo. The next set of questions comes from Lee Cooperman at Omega. I'll read these off in succession and we can have the team answer where appropriate. When should we expect firm orders for batteries? And what is the expected timing of your Battery Day? The next one ...more

I, too, was disappointed after no announcement of at least one contract as I believe Arias and team was planning to deliver when the date was set (or at least I'll give them the benefit of the doubt) I hated to hear Misk give Lee a response to expect a contract within a week of battery day.  As we all know, there is potential for hold-ups in any contract and I'm sure many will call ...more

Can they deliver?  We are in the thick of the iron ore boom and they are incapable of generating a decent revenue stream out of  their huge 2-million tons iron ore stockpile. If the March sales rate was of any indication it would take them 10-15 years to clear that stockpile alone, never mind the additional annual production of 500k tons. And there is the risk that the iron ore boom ...more
