They haven't announced the next one yet but the last one was ... see below.  I almost doubled my LIF holding since the last one was paid out, an 18% dividend is just too ridiculous to pass up TORONTO, Sept. 15, 2021 /CNW/ - The Directors of Labrador Iron Ore Royalty Corporation (the "Corporation") (TSX: LIF) declared today a quarterly cash dividend of $2.10 ...more

LIF may very well be a buy and hold forever stock. How can one not buy the share for its div.? If a person looks at its history, the div has increased qtr over qtr.

When i first bought in I was worried about the "If it looks to good to be true ..." adage, but I bought anyway.  I still can't see the downside to this and have recommended it to a couple folks wh ended up buying it for even less than I did at the time.

Go to the LIORC web-site "NEWS" and you will find all of the NRs relating to dividends. Just check the month of Dec for several years running and you will see a pattern. If I recall : 15th of the month announcement and x date  the last day.

Alright, enough is enough. You do know that this royalty company pays a variable dividend, right? The next 2 dividend payments are expected to be really low due to the collapse of the Iron Ore market price. Really low. Last dividend was $2.10 Next dividend (this month) will probably be in the $1.10 to $1.20 range 1st Quarter dividend next year will definitely be less than a dollar. How much ...more

Agree that the div is very variable just go way back, but it has never been inferior to $1.00. I bought in in 2001 when the SP was under 20$. Been in/out/in/in since. If I wish to see what is happening I just have to take a walk and look at the bay. Ships are lined up for a space at the ship loader. Do not forget that the quality of the product is amongst the best on the market. The company is ...more

If this trades back to down $2/year divided your only getting around 5.5% yeild and likely a fall back to the low to mid $20s in price... now 5.5% yeild is nice, but it would take 5-9 years of collecting to break even overall depending where it falls to... Now this is an unlikely scenario in the current environment, but it's a major risk that is not even worst case, worst case as mentioned buy ...more

Where on earth are you getting $89 from. The total dividend amount has already been released just do the math on shares outstanding for a ballpark. Updated yield will be over 12% maybe even higher. It's always a generous payout based on the share price. Average down if need be and collect cash for many many years. You're really over thinking this.
Comment by JayBanks on Dec 08, 2021 8:45pm
I'm taking the 5 year average yeild of 9.4 and using it a base of what the normal share price is vs the dividend at payout and dividing it from what the forward looking dividend total appears to be as an estimation of share price valuation that has been shown to be the past standard, which shows if the share price is within normal valuations on payout periods: Based on 2.10 per quarter = 8 ...more

With the money flooding the market and the scramble for value, this is undervalued by a long shot. JMHO

You are way over analysing this. I can assure you this type of analysis will mostly ensure you buy into value and more than likely end up in 'value traps' that just bounce around for years in a set price range. Ask me how I know. Furthermore most of the value here comes from the royalty (and it's 15% ownership of IOC)  and dividend it pass on to holders. This depends on the price ...more

The production this last year was affected by the bucket wheel loading ship system (burnt) so this should help the bottom line Y/Y ?
Comment by ElanS2 on Dec 09, 2021 9:20pm
Correction to your grammar: The tonnage shipped this last year was affected by a bucket wheel loading ship system (burnt) so this should help the bottom line. The tonnage sold ( shipped ) is what counts and there are two parallel reclaimer/ship loader systems so the loadout rate was 1/2 of normal capacity not zero. Ships backed up for a time but that is largely over now. Penalties may have ...more
