Where C is a constant. 
When it comes to dividends there is no such thing as a "$1.08 constant"
Any time a Board meets it can vote to change the dividend.  If you start with the wrong assumption, there is no end to convoluted conclusions.

"The Company pays $1.08 per share for a Dividend. This is the Constant here! No matter what happens the company has agreed to pay $1.08 per share."

Dyod so in essance, your saying The B of D are guaranteeing the dividend payout.  Thats absurd. No company would hand cuff themselves in  that fashion.  Q4 numbers are getting closer. Will be interesting to see if Mgmt makes any ajustments to their 7 point plan.  I totally , imho, expect a guidance remark saying " the current dividend monthly , is under review " ...more

The current Dividend has been under review now for what? Is it 3 years or 4 years? But yet they paid the same every month. Even last years figures were worst than this year so far and they paid monthly. So this is not new news. This is Old Hat.

Of course the Board can meet and decide to Reduce, Increase, or even Drop the Dividend at any time. We all know that! I guess you missed the point so I will repeat it slower this time. The Company pays (or doesn't pay) a Dividend accorded to a $ amount and not as a %. They don't declare they are paying the Dividend at 15.1% a year or 1.258% per month. They say a $1.08 per share or $0.09 ...more
