In Canada as governments begin to release the strong restrictions on booze we will see most alcohol being sold in grocery and variety stores.    Ontario will soon start selling wine in grocery stores along with beer.   So specialty stores may be made redundant?    One stop shopping has been the uber store lately.   Go to walmart or Meijers and you ...more

If Walmart was so great then there would be no other store in Canada as everyone would buy everything from them. Tell that to Loblaws and Canadian Tire. Walmart turns a profit by huge volume buying at a discount and then selling on reduced prices on sales volume. But they can't do that with Liquor in Alberta as they have to pay the same price for Liquor as everyone else, no matter how much ...more

Oh Yeah! If the Alberta Government wanted only one store chain like Walmart to dominate the Liquor Industry in Alberta then you would still be buying your Liquor from the Alberta Government Liquor Stores. That is like going back to what they had don't you think?

I know I read from here awhile back that premium beer like Molson Canadian and Budweiser Sales were down and cheaper brands and craft beers sales were up. I think people are still drinking beer but just buying cheaper beer, which is expected abd known.
