How big is a ton of rock?

Can anyone tell me, roughly how big is one ton of rock? When looking at drill results it would be very helpful to be able to picture what 1 or 2 metres of rock would be in tons.

Thanks silverstarz but that is not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the rough dimentions of a solid ton of rock.   Thanks DP

all rock is different size. It all depends on the density of the material present..

Depending upon the sp grav of the material, 1 cubic meter of rock can weigh between 2.5 to 3.5 Tonnes, 0.4m3 to 0.285m3.
