RE:Stories About The Chinese And Gold
You guys are uptight, lets relax with a story
We all know the Chinese loves gold, in the gold business, they are our biggest customer, the Chinese love their gold in a different way than we do here in the West, I think some of us treat gold like the Dutch treated their tulip bulbs in the 17th century, but to the Chinese, gold is "life and death".
In 1958 wide spread famine occured in China, England was the only western country that recognize red China, the U.S. and Canada made it illegal to deal with China, the same year, the Canadian prairie farmers are starving with no money, but lots and lots of wheat, they had to burned them to get room, that gave the government a big head ache.
Mr. Alvin Hamilton, the Agriculture Minister of Canada decided to go ahainst the American's wishes (orders?), he went to London to made a deal to sell wheat to China, the Chinese had no money, so the payment had to be pure gold, the gold brick size and purity had to meet Canadian standarts. the gold bricks had to be in Vancouver, check and approved before the grain start loading on ships.
The Chinese government immediately confiscate (that rule was abolish 5 years ago) all the gold in the country, worked 24/7 to made gold bricks for Canada, with all that time lapse, wheat finally arrived Shanghai just in the nick of time to staved off starvation.
At the end of the story, the Chinese had some food, but no gold, no starvation. the Canadian farmers had lots and lots of money, but no wheat, (GM set sales record of 1959 Cadiilacs in the prairies), the Canadian government had lots of gold, but no head ache.
Eight years later in South Vietnam, some people (80% Chinese) had to run for their lives from the Nothern Commies, they paid the U.S.soldiers up to 5lbs of gold per person to get on a boat to become refugees called "the boat people".
These stories can be verify by the newspapers or government record of those years.
LSG, stay long and strong, but remember to take some profit when ever possible.LOL CHEERS GLTA.

You forgot the part about our idiot government eventually selling off all Canada's gold reserves. American Banksters convinced them it was an archaic relic. Suckers
