Crosstrading=short selling...

It can't get much easier than short selling shares that are already in the house.

Crosstrades don't always mean short sales. For instance, if I wanted to buy 200,000 of LSG and I was using, say Dundee, they might first look to fill that order from their own book, perhaps they were part of a financing and have a few million free shares they wouldn't mind cashing in on or another retail account may be willing to sell at that price.
