So correct me if I'M wrong as I havn't read all 1400 posts here in the last 2 days, but from what I have read on this deal we are not guaranteed 1.71$

If the deal goes through we're guaranteed 0.1467 of a THO share, so the value (per LSG share) fluctuates based on the performance of THO's stock price.

plus gold up 4.1% versus silver up 3.1% so LSG is carrying more of the upward movement in THO as LSG WAS a pure gold play whereas THO is a silver/gold play. if gold can hold the gains there is little doubt that a hostile bid will come to the table - deal with shareholders directly instead of mgmt/BOD!

7:1 share split is easy to remember base working off the new companys stock price. Give up 7 LSG shares for 1 THO share. on a sliding scale of THO's price. If the people realize the value LSG brings to the table the THO share could rise on demand giving more value than $1.71....or the reverse is true.
