Another View of Short Report

It is a typical report to create fear, uncertainty and doubt. Some parts made us laugh. An early point says insiders ONLY own 26%. That is $5 billion in stock. We wish all companies had $5B insider ownership. Calling Descartes a 'troubled software company' was really funny: the stock is up 100-fold since 2004. Essentially it attacked an expensive stock in a weak market and has already achieved the desired results. Our bet is that Sprucepoint has already partially covered the position. LSPD sold $716M in stock to US institutions in August at $93 and we would side with those buyers over an inflammatory report. While the SHOP report was from a different short seller, Sprucepoint has attacked other Canadian companies with mixed results. DOL was attacked at $36 a few years ago and is now $55, for example.

With all due respect to most of your postings retiredcf, Spruce did not only reported on Dolo and Cdn Tire. In the last 3 years they did reports on over 40 corporations, and were successfull on most of them. They write well researched reports in general. Yes they goofed on those last two, but their reports are in general quite solid. Not to be taken lightly. GLTA

After a short attack like this it is common for most or all of the analysts following the stock to lower their target price. In Lightspeed's case not a single analysts has lowered their target price, NOT ONE!! What is that telling you?....this is a sick game, don't be fooled, this will pass, hang on to your shares!

At 120, I agree that those who did not sell should not be selling at this point. it is worth holding on to their shares because most of the damage has probably been done. But do net expect to revisit 160 in the short term. Moreover, NASDAQ in general doing soso lately. Remember thatwhen SHOP got attacked by Citron, no analyst had changed their guidance in thefollowing days. It took a while for ...more

Perhaps VV2222 but given their comments on DSG as well as being negative on 26% insider ownership, it at least raises a few credibility questions. GLTA
