What's happened to the specials?

This month it will have been a whole year since the discovery of any stone worthy of special mention.

From the news release of 29th July 2021 :-

Eira Thomas, CEO commented: "Lucara is pleased to announce the recovery of the 393 carat Type IIa white from the M/PK(S) unit of the South Lobe, the third +300 carat white gem from the M/PK(S) in 2021. This recent recovery continues to demonstrate the strong and consistent resource performance of the South Lobe. The 393 carat and 156 carat diamonds add to the collection of significant diamond recoveries in 2021, as Lucara looks to ramp up construction activities for the proposed underground expansion at Karowe."

But since then..... nothing special?

What has happened to the "strong and consistent resource"?

fair. it would seem that since ms. ET has come along, either by design and/or some shift in stategy, transparency is no longer. imo, the "secrecy" has been much more noticeable since the "partnerships" have been entered into. coincidence, maybe, maybe not. one thing I know is the lack of transparency doesn't sit well with me as an investor/owner of shares.

Good volume and good demand got us up to 73 and then the confidence disappeared as quickly as it arrived .  Next time I will be sticking to buying on the dips and selling on the upticks and not letting greed get in the way again .

I wonder why they mention $271 million in dividends paid in the presentation?  Will the company perhaps revisit a dividend policy in the future?  A small progressive monthly dividend would be welcomed by long time shareholders that have been slowly accumulating at these levels over the years....they do have $39m in cash

They always love mentioning the past dividends which I don't understand as even to a child it was obvious when the dividend was initiated that those funds were going to be needed to grow the company either by acquisitions or by the underground. "Thick" . I dont doubt that we will be back to dividends in the future but the time frame for the future dividends will be negatively ...more

Gerry, If you knew it was obvious that the dividend was a mistake, when they were paying the dividends, why did you not sell your position, knowing that it would be detrimental to the share price? What you keep spouting is just hindsight and that is hardly visionary. BnM
