Stupid move by MAG mgmt

Why in the hell would they do such an idiotic acquisition? I'm all for some great M&A by anyone including MAG, but this move has just stupidity witten on it on several levels. There were so MANY other potential lucrative targets MAG could have gone for instead of this garbage, which were going to be synergenic with Mag's core asset base. But this? This is truly beyond comprehension, why they would waste time & money on this acquisition and devalue Mag s/h with an asset which doesn't fit in with Mags vision and which mostly likely will not be fruitful & probably overpaid for. This move both diversifies Mag away from them being a pure Silver play and gets them involved with risks that come with Gold miners.

What's the logic or thinking here by Mag's mgmt? I can't seems to find ANY valid reason for doing this except one. Are they afraid of the political or country risk in Mexico? And mabye want to some exposure to Gold's appreciation. Well, if that's the case, there were much better targets to explore than Gatling.....and they overpaid by quite a bit IMO.

BTW, for anyone on the board, wth happened to all the previous posts on this forum? Seems that SH removed them & they all disappeared. Go figure.....full disclosure i'm not a CURRENT s/h of MAG but was a few times in the past. I DID conisder MAG to be one of the better companies in the silver space as an investment for exposure to that metal. As well, i WAS considering re-rentering this stock maybe sometime in the future. BUT in light of what has happened with this development, i must review & reassess my opinion & outlook for this company.....as i vehemently disagree with what they've done. Damn, what a mistake....

I agree 110 ten percent This is a real real stupid move, why did we not get to vote on it ?and who is behind it personally the Mag board is way over paid and they need to be re vamped. I have been in Mag for over 20 years and they have made in the last little while some really stupid moves that's just costing the share holders nothing but money as you say there is way better out there if we ...more

Great Acquisition! 1.  Safe Jurisdiction. 2.  Quickly defined 1.5 million ounce resource.  The way the various deposits connect a large drill program will make this 3 plus million ounces within 1 year of close. 3.   Potential High Grade Pit based on near surface drill results like :  170 meters 1.5 gpt from surface.  These days that is very high for low strip ...more

As expressed in my earlier post "Rationale behind Gatling acquisiton?", this is a very puzzling purchase but not necessarily stupid if there are good reasons for it. However, I haven't seen any reasons at all put forward by MAG. I just hope that Gatling isn't run by a "good mate" of someone at MAG. Paspalas should explain what they were thinking when they wrote the ...more

I agree with everything you said ,the grades are not great as well ? who cares if it's cheep that's no excuse there is a reason why it's so cheep. I also wonder who is in who"s pockett as well. One positive thing is Daren Wagner is involved with Gatling,he knows the Mag boys well. I personally think the Big Mag cheese needs to come clean and fill the Mag share holders in as to why ...more

The answer is simple. Eric Sprott is a large share holder of both MAG and GTR, MAG could be the next KL - Kirkland Lake Gold.

" long suffering GTR shareholder"  Could it be you are just a little bit biased?  All you have posted is your own personal opinion, no justifiation, no supporting documentation, no data, etc, Yeah, we all have an opinion, don't we, but whoin the F are you?  The question is do you have anything concrete that you can point to as indicating a basis for your ...more

More unsubstantiated personal opinion.  Who cares?  Really, who cares what you did, what you bought, who cares how much money you lost, or even who the F you are.  None of your post provides a means of independently verifying your POV.   Claim this and claiming that without a mean of substantiating your assertions is just plain childishly stupid.   After years on ...more
