Mr Manson Interview

Maybe I missed it earlier in the hailstorm of Mustlovedogs posts but I don’t think anyone has posted Mr. Manson’s interview with Mining Stock Daily yet: https://anchor.fm/mining-stock-daily/episodes/Corporate-Editorial-Marathon-Gold-CEO-Matt-Manson-e19kcrk/a-a6qfu27

A few takeaways/comments I got from the interview:

Nothing in the Provincial feedback was a Red Flag for the project. Of course you would expect him to say that but still good to hear.

Although the letter from the Province had a number of segments listed there was a fair bit of nuance behind those headings that the public didn’t see.  Some were not even requests for further info but guidance for monitoring post-release.

Strong treasury currently and no need for a new raise due to this.

Side note: I've mentioned before but it is worth checking in on Mr. Manson's Twitter feed on occassion and maybe especially when there is news just to potentially get a bit more colour.

Thought I would post as a response so my own thoughts aren’t mistaken as something from the interview.   Reading between the lines a bit it felt like maybe the Province had not followed the correct order of operations in their assessment process.  Maybe stuff presented by the Province should have either been addressed in the first iteration or communicated differently but not okayed ...more

Pretty sure they just really dropped the ball on this.   They did not address items that were requested many months ago and if they did it was not in the 150% range that they could warrant spending funds on.  One can try and spin it a bit different but in this case the simplest explanation is the correct one - imo. tC

- Experiencing some indigestion accepting the  fumbling ball /oversight explanation! ...   Manson et-al clearly understood the significance / implications of attaining EIS approvals, so    question is , who stands to benefit here ???

Not just Manson, MOZ'S VP Environment has been through this EIS process in NL quite a few times.

I guess I'm still confused by the strong reaction to this news.  They had to go through two iterations with the Feds and no one seemed worked up about it but then this happened and everyone acts like it is the end of the world.  Anyways, as a shareholder as well as an avid outdoorsman I am happy to see that they are going to put the work in to get the mine built and also that the ...more

This delays everything by perhaps six months. How do you not understand? How many million dollars worth of work and wages are gaining the company nothing for six additional months because MOZ screwed up?

I guess I see a project I expect to be in production for 15+ years.  A project I've been invested in for years.  Six months isn't an amount of time that gets me too worked up but we all have different threshholds.  I don't see the company going through some huge cash burn due to the extra months.  Not like they are paying construction crews to sit around that whole ...more
