Today's Trivia

Sentiment or is the glass half full or half empty?

I would prefer to think these Boards are useful for obtaining relevant information and news worthy articles some might otherwise miss. I was digging around today looking at the final expected Federal permits to be approved and community opinions. It would appear not all the indigenous people are welcoming the Valentine Lake project with open arms.

Agreements were signed this past year with several groups however one group shown below is against the project and potential impact on many aspects of the proposed mine. The other leaders see jobs and benefits being associated with Marathon, others not so.  While in my opinion I expect the permits to be forthcoming. I do have concerns and to say this has been a hurdle for Marathon to get this far and it has not been without formidable challenges as they set the finish line for future mining in NFLD. So far MOZ is checking off all the boxes.

The world is full of crackpots. "Shanawdithit, the last known Beothuk, died in St. John's, Newfoundland in 1829."

That was no Joke it is documeted on the Fed website.  I don't post anything that is not fact and while those people protest, the Government will hear them and take thier concerns in the evaluation of the project. Just goes to show "seek and you shall find".  Not to be negative, Moz has to address all issues very small and minority peoples who may have concerns, Not to be ...more

I agree with your comment on respecting all people Ridge - hope my statements didnt come across otherwise. I really didn't / don't think there are indigenous peoples in NL that identify as Beothuc - maybe I've learned something?? Far as I knew Beothuc bloodline was considered to be wiped out and are non existant.

It's beyond appalling that a former ceo of Arizona Mining is involved with this enviromentally sensitive project in Newfoundland, Canada. There is a lot of opposition to this project and with good reason. I'm no longer a shareholder.
