News Release
Brookshire Dome Oil Production Continues to Increase
Vancouver, BC, Sept. 13, 2001 – Mira Properties Ltd. (MPI.CDNX) announces that results of oil production show an increase of over 40% from the previous month in both July and August. Adverse conditions during the summer slowed drilling somewhat, but the operator is currently drilling ahead on the syndicate’s 21st well to date. The operator has also contracted a third drilling rig that is to be used exclusively for the drilling of shallower gas wells, expected to be from 1200 feet to 1500 feet. This drilling rig can be expected to drill up to six wells per month in addition to the 4 wells per month the operator’s first two rigs can be expected to drill.
Further to the news release dated July 23, 2001, the Operator has reported the following updates to the drilling program:
Dachshund #1A: drilling has been completed on the first shallow gas well to a total depth of 1185 feet.
Dachshund #7: drilling has commenced to a proposed depth of 3300 feet.
Dachshund #8: completed and brought on-line as a gas producer.
Dachshund #9: completed and brought on-line as an oil producer.
Dachshund #11: completed and brought on-line as an oil producer.
Dachshund #12: completed as a gas producer and will be brought on-line when the flow line is completed
Dachshund #13: completed and brought on-line as a gas producer.
Weido #1: completed as a gas producer and awaiting workover rig.
Mitchell #2: will be brought on-line when electricity can be hooked up to the pumper unit.
Mitchell #3: drilled to a total depth of 5000 feet, logged and cored, and production casing run and cemented.
The operator is currently negotiating with Beta Oil & Gas to develop some jointly owned acreage. Also, more acreage has been leased for the drilling syndicate and will continue. In the meantime, new companies are moving into the Brookshire Dome area and the leasing of acreage and drilling continues at a rapid pace.
