Why?

Why Glencore in Timmins? Why not some of the mills near Wasamac, like Francoer, Malartic, Cadillac? Even Kirkland Lake is closer!!

What the news release didn't mention was that the Kidd Mine might cease production as soon as 2022. With the Kidd Concentrator having a 12,500 tonne a day capacity it would easily handle Wasamac's 6,000 tpd feasibilty study amount. This production could coexist with any lingering Kidd Mine production. By rail it's about 200 kilometers and rail haulage is quite cost efficent. GLTA ...more

Ya, you could be right Mac. The ONR railway needs the business anyway. Just load it on the cars at the  siding at Aldermac or Arntfield.
