When you say "funds" I hope that you mean Exchange Traded Funds rather than mutual funds. ETFs are tradable all day whereas the price for a mutual fund is set daily after the market closes. ETFs typically have tiny Management Expense Ratios, think less than 1% (annually) in most cases. Mutual Funds have two or three ways to take your money - an annual fee that can be 3-5%, and
