Top Pick

Nal Energy Top Pick on BNN: https://watch.bnn.ca/friday#clip621865

However, just to temper excitment, Mr Cockfield posted a number of comments on Stockchase including this on Daylight Energy:

Comment 10.070 David Cockfield Not one of his favourites. He prefers some of the bigger names. 2012-02-17

How the heck did he miss the takeover??????????????????? Kinda jaundices his analysis doesn't it.

He also said this about Sun Life:

HOLD Sunlife Financial SLF-T 20.680 Doesn’t think they are in the same territory as MLF, which has pulled it down. If you want to own a lifeco, this is probably one of the best. He did it through power corp. 2012-01-20

Not sure what he did through Power Corp since they own Great West not Sun Life. What's more SLF lost $500 million last quarter, they didn't need any help from ManuLife to get dragged down. Most analysts think MLF will recover faster.

But he likes NAL and ARX and so do I.

Moral of the story is do your own DD. Even the big boys get it wrong. I got scared last week buying PTEN at 17.92 and sold at 2% profit after Goldman Sachs downgraded them and a target price from $29 to $21.50. They drove fear in me as I thought I would listen to 'experts'. What happens? Two days later, SP hit $20's at a point of time on Friday.

- Actually, if you see Mr. Cockfield's comment on  DAY, check what price it was trading... "$10.07". - What price did DAY get taken out ???.... $10.08 !! Hindsight... he was not that unreasonable in his comments based on the price that DAY was trading at that time !!. - I believe NAE is a "BUY" at below $9.00... Based on my analysis, NAE should be taken out at a " ...more
