McDonald's & Nano One Materials

"The purchaser has provided a deposit of $500,000 that is non-refundable except in the unlikely event that the Deed of Sale is not executed due to a fault or negligence of the Company. The parties will work in good faith to close the transaction by September 12, 2024."

Let's think out loud and not let ourselves be fooled any further? So who is paying $5 million for a lawn next to a cathode plant? Who? A snack bar owner?

Maybe? McDonald's! One of the partners under NDA?

lol I do appreciate how creative you can be with your speculations. And I do love the idea that a partner or any cathode producer is buying the land next door just to be near to Nano Candiac head quarters.  But to are truly the only person who has even whispered the idea that the land purchaser is somehow somehow connected to CAM production. Nano One themselves have never hinted at this ...more

OK, you're right! Batteries and burgers? Maybe a bit far-fetched. It will probably be someone from the pipeline with similar research intentions. Let's see! "Nano One has over 20 potential LFP customers at various stages of maturity including evaluations for LFP with two automotive EV manufacturers and others in the pipeline, a number of energy and stationary storage cell ...more

Why would the buyer need to be a secret? What possible reason for the secrecy? It just makes zero practical sense.  Don't get me wrong, I am hoping you are correct. Just pointing out that there seems like some holes in the theory.

I completely agree with you! I find the partner behavior, be it Rio Tinto, Sumitomo, VW, Umicore and BASF or all other unnamed partners, pathetic. The secrecy forced on management, the miserable slowness and the lack of transparency on the part of the Canadian government is the real nuisance!!!   Global competitor China is at the door! You have a functioning, scalable, greener and ...more

I am thrilled that Nano is positioned to sell the vacant lot adjacent to Candiac #1.  Nano can desperately use the funds (~$5MM CAD) and Nano had no intention of building on that vacant lot (for a number of reasons including limitations on utilities at that location to support a commercial scale CAM plant relative to alternative locations).  I have no expectations that the buyer of ...more

What makes no sense to me @contrap127 is why all your speculations need to be based on secrecy.  Like what possible reason would there be to keep it a big secret that SMM or Unicore is buying the property. There is none. It's just nonsense speculation.

You're right, I've been wrong all these years. There's probably nothing to be said here either. Yes, I'm almost certain that my guess is wrong. But... actually a good sign. Right?   Who the hell wants to work with the losers from Candiac? https://www.worley.com/-/media/files/worley/investors/results-and-presentations/2024/wor-annual-report-2024.pdf   Honestly, I ...more

@contrap127 proves to be a bumbling incompetent inspector Clouseau once again. I wish @contrap127 didn't have to be wrong every time he suggested some foolish speculation about Nano One.    "Nano One sold the land to DUROPAC, a flexible packaging leader for the food industry in Canada. With this acquisition, they will build new 70,000-square-foot headquarters, show room ...more
