"Have you submitted a document on this much smaller mine, showing it's financially viable to the Corps of Engineers that is a certifiable, real analysis?" DeFazio asked Collier.
"No," Collier replied.
AGAIN, we ALL know that. Northern Dynasty hasn't shown a workup on the smaller mine. They are concentrating on fighting illegal politics that is trying to stop them.
However, other analysts have examined the viability of the smaller mine and found it VERY PROFITABLE.
Northern Dynasty HAS POSTED its plans for the smaller mine. Did you bother to examine them. Even though the mine and its footprint will be smaller, they will be using newer advanced mining techniques such as automatic programed trucks to carry out the blasted ore. They know the route the trucks are to take. This will change daily as the pit progresses, and so they just program in the canges as they occur. It is also safer.
This way they won't have to contend with distracted drivers that might have an accident.
ALSO, as their plan dictates, they will use the newer safer, and yet more powerful mining explosives which can be better directed and not only blast the ore more powerfully, but because of its better controlled blast, the resulting ore fragments will be of optimum size for the mill to grind. This will save a great deal of money because the ore won't have to be put through a mesh to separate the larger chunks which would then have to be sent through a separate crushing circuit to bring it to the required size to be used in the main crusher.
Alltogether, even though the mine will be smaller, its daily output of ore will be 30% more than was originally planned for the larger mine.
All of this, and more design improvements, such as use of the excess heat from the gas power plant to heat the living quaters of the workers, etc. will mean that the smaller plant will be even more profitable than the previously planned larger mine.
Surely you took the time to research this before spouting off, didn't you?
