There will be blockchain interference--NFT's, coins of the ether electric grid realm, probably more and more bizarre wannabees.  But you say it right---gold is inextricably woven into the fabric of every society around the globe, will have it's ups and downs but will always have people coming back after getting burned bit by bit by bit. Obviously blockchain will have it's place for the long haul, it is going to become the main medium of exchange---for buying and selling things---like gold for instance.  IMO

  I don't think that is right with Blockchain. Blockchain only will dominate in the ledger management to down weight the banks. It cannot dominate with another asset class... Now it is the time of big guys to multiply their wealth with this fancy Bitcoin. Once they create enough interests within the retail investors, pass on their bag of Bitcoin and put the dollars in their pocket ...more
