First of all - neulion owns their proprietary end to end stack - whereas MLB licenses pieces their technology. Campbell is correct. The NHL wanted more than a distribution of its product to users of devices other than TV. They also wanted someone to handle the cable network part of the business. NLN does not do that, MLB does.

what was NHL's share of the $1B spin off? They did not partner up for free. Follow the money.

question - doesn't Rogers own the rights to NHL in Canada (gamecenter live, etc) - which will still be powered by Neulion? The deal with MLB was for every game (that doesn't include a Canadian team).... ...so my question is - how much revenue did Neulion actually lose considering they still run Rogers Gamecenter live?
