Punishing Putin & the LNG Brouhaha

Supplying Europe's gargantuan maw with N American LNG?!!
Can't help but wonder if it's getting overblown a tad. 
Realise that Vlad is not immortal.  By the time we build the LNG infrastructure who knows who'll be in power in the Kremlin?  
Will Europe buy exorbitantly priced LNG shipped half way around the world ( and an enormous GHG footprint) when there is a cheaper, much safer alternative in a pre=built functioning double-line pipeline from Siberia? 
Will it make economic sense then?  What happens when the war hysteria dies down?

Good points. A lot of LNG projects around the world also. Once Russia completes the natural gas pipeline to China, China will not require to import and also can send to other local countries more cheaply than North American LNG. When Qatar and others carry out their LNG plans, Europe gets low cost LNG. Pricing out North American suppliers. This goes for hydrogen, ammonia, etc. And the rhetoric ...more

Just not possible in a short time. Looks like that fossiil fuels wil be around for a longer time than people thought. Yet despite this, full effort on windfarms, etc is to continue. --Biden Strikes Gas Deal to Reduce Europe’s Reliance on Russia (msn.com)
