Cost of borrowing going up?

Northland caught up in the downdraft. Nothing to do with US offshore, but fast rising interest rates maybe.

you have me confused....aren't interest rates on a downstrend?  Now that inflation has come down my impression is the further declines are required to stimulate the economy.  The perspective on whether stimulus is needed may vary be country.  The expectation of simulative policy in the US might cool that need in that country, but I'm guessing that protectionist US policy ...more

In the US the 10 year treasury notes rose from 3.6% to 4.4% in a month. And yet central banks reduced rates because it seems inflation was being contained. It remains to be seen if inflation increases under the new administration. What the treasury notes show are based on expectations. I can't see a big rise in inflation and mortgage rates. Does prosperity and job creation have to be ...more
