The Great Nothingness

Excuse me folks , but I am going to rant , and this otherwise quiet bullboard may be the best place for me.
It is now very apparent that we the investments in the Canadian Oil and Gas space are once again going to be vilified and attacked not only by vast army's of attention seekers, groupies, misinformed masses and self serving politicians , but also by our own who will be looking to drive share prices down in an effort to get in at bargain basement prices ( or even worse carpet baggers and other raiders)
Companies need to defend themselves. The best way is to reduce debt as low as possible.
We have already learned that even those financial institutions who are supposed to be our partners will quickly turn against us. This is already happening ,as credit ratings are being reduced for even the majors.
This industry is too important , not only to Western Canada but also to the rest of Canada (and I am not talking about transfer payments alone)
The present administration in the US seems to be completely out of their minds. they are hardly in any position to dictate energy policy to the world. Without Canada's acquiesence, they cannot even dictate energy policy to North America

What can we as otherwise lowly retail investors do?

First, we need to make our voices heard, not with shrill words but with reasoned arguments
We need to let the world KNOW that Canada cares and that the best available technology is being used to alleviate Global Warming  Attacking the concept of global warning is probably fruitless but we should nevertheless let the world know that ther are other much better solutions than many of the half baked ideas being touted now

Second, we need to magnify our voices . Ask our managements to strengthen Capp into a major force that provides thorough analysis of alternatives that can be provided to our media and other decision makers .

Third , lets hold people to account, If you don't like what is happening to us ,go to their spaces and tell them why you don't ( not only media and politics but also banks and credit agencies)

Fourth and last for now, get involved , there are a lot of people with a lot of knowledge out there
Lets get your say. perhaps we could ask stockhouse to provide us with a separate forum where we could promote our ideas together
Thanks for your attention, I feel better already !!

Sometimes events arise that change everything, IMHO that event is what is happening with GAME STOP and others such as BLACKBERRY. At long last the retail investors have discovered how to stick it to the Hedge Funds . Their squealing is music to my ears. They already have legislators  (Elisabeth Warren  !!) speaking up about the need for legislation . they claim they represent pension ...more

Totally with you on that. It's about time it ended up backfiring. Estimates of 5b losses to 2 funds. Maybe they can learn out of this. All fair game when the small guy takes the beating, as far as their concerned. JSA

Tremendous Information . Should probably be part of a required reading course for school Children so that they might be freed from the propaganda that they are currently being fed. Obviously, the forces against us are very well organized and funded. But investors need to speak up clearly and vociferously. It is to our advantage that we are speaking the truth. We  just need to find clear ways ...more
