NVO now 10% higher than what KL sold for

As a NVO and KL owner, the way KL sold the shares still iritates. Lost opportunity for KL, hope the buyers enjoy.

Hey Saudi, my unsubstantiated theory is KL had initially invested in Novo for one purpose and one purpose only: They were playing the percentages, hoping that Novo would end up diluting themselves to death (like most juniors), and then they (KL) would waltz in and steal the company. The MOMENT it became crystal clear Novo would experience no such further dilution, they picked up their marbles and ...more

I don't believe that was so.  Back then, KL was heavily influenced by their Chairman of the Board.   That would be ES.   And he believed easy gold was to be had.  Lots and lots of it.  He may have likely become a little disillusioned when he realized it wasn't as easy as his metal detector had detected. And then ES retired , and was gone from KL.  And ...more

So, KL is making money hand over fist (about 39.00 per share these days), and ES became disillusioned and retired from KL because it wasn't as easy to get to the gold as he thought? Thanks for the viewpoint, and sorry if I seem a little slow on the uptake, but I think I must be missing something.

Yes... you are missing a few things.  Thanks ok. Tx

".......ES became disillusioned and retired from KL because it wasn't as easy to get to the gold as he thought? ......" My guess is that Novo (ES) will be extracting and selling gold from Egina many, many years before Wallbridge (Tony's investment) sinks a shaft to pour ounces.

Apples and Oranges.  Apples grow well up north, Oranges grow well down South. TM and KL will do all right.  But he was not right for Novo. Tx

Hey BM.  What about Gary Glitter?  I think he was misunderstood as well. Tx

He added 1.5 chapters. As did TM.

the way I see it, kl made so much money in 2020, that they were willing to take the hit ,being ''tax loss season '' even for big corporations, just to show the market that the have tonnes of available money in the kittle. I also think that it their dumping of shares does not shed a nice shine on management .. buy at 5, sell at 2.35 . smart...

IMO, KL displays a behavior often witnessed in successful older companies as they transition away from the risk-taking managers/BOD who built the company.  Such is accelerated by slowing growth. Generally speaking, this used to take decades or more, but it is typical of explorers who hit the big time.  Taking this back to Novo, I and others see a steady stream of growth lasting decades ...more

OK, ValuePro,I can process that line of thought - QH is a rugged individualist, rebellious, and independent sort who is thinking outside the box, which may be somewhat inconsistent with the thought processes of a company which has already made its way and simply desires the stability of appropriate custodians to nurse their way through to the end. Maybe Mr. Moriarty's book will address this ...more

"........Maybe Mr. Moriarty's book will address this issue - looking forward to it. Sorry, just not believing that the "not a good fit" rationale is the whole story and reason that KL sold at a loss in a seemingly precipitous way......."   I agree that “not a good fit” does not seem to be plausible – the Detour open pit could be argued to be “not a good fit” with UG ...more

VP, I might not live to see it, but I think someday, Novo will have a higher market cap than KL.

"I might not live to see it, but I think someday, Novo will have a higher market cap than KL." Are you ill?       ' ' ' Asked in jest, of course.  This difference is that KL has been a steady grower for, what, nearly 40-years?  Novo is setting up to be launched with a catapult. It will not have to try as hard to catch up, at least IMO. VP
