Yeah. I read Alfred Wegener when I was a little kid, believed his theory, and used to argue with the teacher about it in primary school. Continental drift was ridiculed as tin hat stuff up until the 1960s, then they renamed it plate tectonics and said it was true. Science. All you had to do was look at a map.
